We are committed to preserving the forest and its biodiversity and to protecting the health of humans, flora, and fauna. In 2021 we started an in-depth study with 3 researchers to document the rich biodiversity of our cloud forests and riparian habitats, which safeguard critical water and soil for our indigenous communities and downstream towns, host important animal populations, and constitute a biological corridor connecting natural preserves in the Yasica Sur watershed, located near Matagalpa, Nicaragua.

Our goal is to develop a regional plan to sustainably steward around 104 Ha. in the most beneficial way so that both humans and biodiversity can thrive. It is also a critical step to safeguard the forest, which is being seriously compromised by illegal mining operations currently expanding in our territory.
